how it works
Physics Tutoring
The power and impact of one on one physics tutoring is undeniable. Next Level Up's physics tutors know the ins and outs of physics from teaching the formulas in math-based physics classes, as well as the deep conceptual understandings in concept based physics classes. We focus on fundamentals, stress the importance of practice, strive to teach students how to problem solve, and try to incorporate the 'Why' as well as the 'How' of physics.
Depending upon the school district you are in, your student may take physics in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. It is not consistent throughout the Commonwealth. Regardless of the age at which your student is exposed to physics concepts, Next Level Up has the staff to connect with your student and meet their support needs.
Students often say, "I'm not a science person." Here at NLU, that phrase doesn't enter our thinking. In our minds, anyone can become a so-called science person. All it takes is a little one on one support with a great tutor, being shown ideas and concepts from different angles, and a little desire to practice and improve. Next Level Up Tutoring has been helping K-12 students improve, and ultimately succeed, in physics class since 2009.

Don't just take our word for it. See what a satisfied parent had to say!
Julian, worked with our eighteen year old son primarily to focus on calculus but also assisted my son with Physics when it became evident that he was also struggling with the subject as well. My son was struggling with efficiency, setting up problems and double-checking his during quizzes and tests. All of this also affected his confidence with each passing exam. Since working with Julian, we have seen an increase in his overall self-confidence to deal with all the items he struggled with during tests. Julian had a great approach and was able to communicate in a manner that my son understood. Todd took the time to listen to our concerns and much to his credit matched my son with a great tutor.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT TAKES PLACE AT THE CONSULTATION?
The idea is to meet the parents and student in person in order to obtain as much information as possible to help come up with the best tutor match. Regardless of the student's age, it is important for him or her to be involved in the process and take ownership right from the beginning since it is all about him or her.
HOW DO WE FIND THE IDEAL MATCH?
There are many factors we take into consideration. They range from the age and gender of the student, personality type, interests, academic strengths and weaknesses, location, and availability.
WHO ARE THE TUTORS THAT WORK WITH NEXT LEVEL UP?
All coaches hired by Next Level Up have either a Master's degree, teaching certification, or are currently enrolled in a Graduate school program. Each tutor also must possess 3-5 years of one on one tutoring experience.
DO NEXT LEVEL UP ACADEMIC COACHES PROVIDE MATERIALS?
Yes. However, since we base the majority of the sessions off of the student's current classroom concepts and curriculum, we encourage all students to bring their classroom textbooks, notes, practice sheets, essays, and old quizzes/tests with them to each session. Our coaches do bring plenty of extra practice with them.
